WHAT CAN YOU DO TO ENHANCE THE GUT SKIN CONNECTION
Gut
Nourish your gut: First of all limit processed foods which are harder to digest causing confusion to the gut, stick to whole foods as much as possible as they are easier to digest as well as more nutrient dense.
Reduce gut disruptors: Cut out or limit foods that are bloating such as wheat, carbonated beverages and beans. Reducing stress as it can have a large impact on the gut axis perhaps practice stress alleviating practices such as mediation, deep breathing or exercise.
Skin
Hydration: Drink adamant amount of water each day to stay hydrated and keep your skin awake.
Omega 3 fatty acids: Design your diet to include more of those omega fatty acids which can be found in fatty fish, walnuts and flaxseeds.
Antioxidants: Antioxidant rich foods help to rejuvenate the skin, combat free radicals and harsh environmental toxins that absorb into the skin. They can be found in berries, nut and leafy greens.
